The launch event was held at Al Nahda Women’s Association in Dubai under the patronage of Sheikh Rashid bin Nasser Al Nuaimi, with the participation of entrepreneurs from the UAE, Syria, and other Arab countries, in addition to prominent artistic and media figures. Mai Al Ghajri, President of the Council, affirmed that the Council’s concept is to bring together Emirati and Syrian women entrepreneurs and expand their economic roles, saying: “We aspire to empower Syrian women entrepreneurs and develop their tools across various fields through events, gatherings, and conferences.” She also noted that the plan includes organizing interactive workshops and regular meetings in Dubai, with the goal of reaching 100 members in the first year, and opening membership to Syrian women entrepreneurs who wish to exchange expertise and support newcomers.
For her part, Nouf Al Yafai, owner of Al Enwan, the company that organized the event, pointed out that the launch of the Council comes to support avenues of cooperation and investment between the UAE and Syria, paving the way for familiarization visits by Emirati investors and women entrepreneurs to Syria to explore opportunities on the ground. The Council is supported by strategic partners, including the Arab Canadian Association for Innovation, the Arab Regional Training Center, and Al Address Events.
This robust media response reflects the importance of the initiative and its mission to empower women and strengthen economic bridges between the UAE and Syria.
